Posted by Sky - 6:56 PM - mIRC 6.17 supports UTF-8
I'm not sure who knows about this yet, but I found out today that Khaled and the mIRC Developers have included UTF8 encoding into the GUI. This feature is optional as it can be turned off in the options dialog. If you are using a custom script to "Theme" your mIRC, you can use the $utfdecode() identifier. Note, this feature is automatically disabled, and to enable the feature in the options dialog in "Lock" there is an option to not disable the identifier.
I hope this has brang some insight to some people who do not know this, and if its old news just tell me and ill delete this post.

- 12:33 AM - A word of advice to Dell.
If you can't easily prevent fuckups like these, don't take on more responsibilities by purchasing Alienware.
I'm damn serious. Alienware's site now uses the impossible-to-navigate layout from Dell, as well as sucking now. Yes, Alienware machines arguably sucked before, but I mean -- how can you, with any soul whatsoever, have bragging rights if you own a rebranded Dell? They may not say this -- but if Dell is imposing their website layout on the site for no apparent reason, they have more control than they claim.
Anyway. Today is a day for mourning. A decent computer company (in relation to most of those out there) is going the ways of Origin.
Though, yes, I agree. I wouldn't mourn for Alienware either. I've built (in a NewEgg shopping cart) a machine better than their best machine and it wasn't nearly as expensive. I did reuse hardware I already own, such as a keyboard, mouse, mousepad, DVD writer, and so on, but still. I beat their price by a shitload, not by some little amount.
Also, looking at the Aurora 7500 right now...
* NVIDIA SLI Multi-GPU technology
* Fastest ATI Radeon graphics
Er. Then wouldn't it be ATI Crossfire and not NVIDIA SLI? I'm just wondering, because I wasn't quite aware that you could do NVIDIA SLI with ATI GPUs... I know you can do Crossfire with ATI GPUs, which is supposed to be similar.
I don't know. Should I be pissed that the poser gamer PC comany got owned by Dell, or should I laugh? I mean, I now have to tell the "leet haxor" who LANs with us with his Alienware that HE'S GOT A DELL but still.

- 12:35 AM - Bug notice
I noticed (after someone pointed it out to me tonight) that IE6 totally screws up the registration page on my site. Until I bother to go fix it, just use Firefox or Opera to register the account. Everything else should work fine.

I think most of these pictures sum it up pretty well.

- 4:48 PM - Google Pack
Google Pack
Check this out. It's a "pack" of software compiled by Google and includes some handy software:
Google Earth (3D view of Earth)
Google Desktop (powerful search tool for your computer)
Picasa (very good photo organiser)
Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer (Search toolbar)
Mozilla Firefox with Google Toolbar
Ad-Aware SE Personal (Very good, free, antispyware utility)
Norton Antivirus 2005 Special Edition (Well known antivirus utility)
Adobe Reader 7 (PDF reader)
It also optionally installs Google Talk, Google Video Player, RealPlayer, and Trillian.
Quite a good idea, and the fact that Norton Antivirus is in there makes it quite attractive. Good if you have a brand new PC and want a quick way to get it going.

What does this ratio mean to you? Well(out of boredom [of course] this came to light), on a computer with 64 MB of RAM and running Win98SE, 77 instances on Firefox can be run, but only 22 Internet Explorer(v6) can be open. If possible, can this be posted as news? Thanks You.

- 10:07 PM - Wish me luck!
I'm finally taking the plunge and installing Windows XP SP2. Why? Because some software (which shall remain nameless) that I really want to use requires it.
We'll see how this turns out.

I'm not actually dead or missing, i've just had a ton of stuff going on at the moment which has meant i haven't had much time for anything else. Luckily, i've gotten a bit more free time now and i'll try to come on here at least once a week or so just to check up on things. anyway, nice to see everyone's still alive and kicking :)

...since nobody reads my site anymore, there has been an update. I suggest you read it, these come few and far between.
- 12:15 PM - More stupid people.
Idiots should not be permitted to run colleges.
Seriously. If Wi-Fi's a health risk, then why isn't the Department of Public Health breaking down my door to take away my WAP?

This, my friends, means you are loved by someone... Seriously. If you have to, for one year only, fuck up the computation of daylight savings time for your country over a stupid game... You need help.
Microsoft has went along with your stupidity, but keep in mind, they don't do this for everyone. :)

Cool.
Which brings me to my next idea. I wonder if they sell broken NESes on eBay?
