Just a quick note.
Today was in K-mart (Coles' general goods) store, and noticed half life 2 for just $10.01 (AUD), So I thought I might spend big... lol and bought it

After i'd left the store I noticed they had only charged me $3.50 (Which is something like: 3.50 Australian dollars = 2.77305 U.S. dollars (According to Google)

I then got a little worried about the CD-key (because of the price) - but no, everything works 100%

Does anyone know what the normal retail (approx) for it is?

Really? Even on http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=package&SubId=36&cc=AU (SteamPowered) it sells for $29.95

Well... it's a little different - it only includes Half Life 2 & Half Life 2 Lost Coast, Where I also got hl2 deathmatch & h12 deathmatch source

I've had to set up my CS: S install for low end systems (My System is nowhere near low end, middle class yes, but low no.) Vista runs smooth on my system, hell it runs better then XP for me (Anyone find it strange it took my so long to adopt XP but I get vista within 2 weeks of it's release?)

And yes you can dual boot 98 with vista, tho you'll be using the bootloader that comes with vista (which IMO is even better then GRUB)
The only thing is the Vista partition needs to be formatted NTFS :/

I still have yet to find a need (other then playing Source based games) to install & dualboot into XP.

Btw if you do decide to try vista I recommend that you have at least 1GB of RAM, 2GHz Processor and a decent to highend DX9 GFX card with atleast 128MB Mem

Well hell, I'd be fine except for the graphics card. Mine's only DX8 128MB.

Anyways, I still need to see about fixing CS:S on my machine. I think I just have to completely wipe Steam and reinstall from scratch.

Nothing in particular. It's more a problem with Source in general. It actually started to hard lockup during loading. I think some gamedata just got corrupted or something stupid like that.

I bought a new laptop 6 months or so ago and i find that most things run slower on Vista, i started messing around and tried to instal a linux build on it to dual boot but unfortunately it wouldn't allow that. I'm considering wiping Vista off the box and going for purely Linux, problem is i have to get a new portable hard drive so i can store all my important stuffs.

doesn't setting your status as away, offline or busy keep that from happening?

Cynamiel = me on XBL. Some fucker already claimed eXonyte on the original XBox.

Also, if it was over this weekend I was playing a lot of GTA4 multiplayer so it could have in fact been me :)

Fusio, possibly, but I have XBL auto sign me in (not to messenger though) and the XBox has permanint network connectivety, so when my mrs puts a movie on (Downloaded to server, playable on XBOX :)), it pops up during games.

Yes Brandon, it would have been over the weekend, is GTA4 worth all of the Hype?

You need XBL Gold to play multiplayer, eh?

GTA4 is amazing on multiplayer. If you play Free mode, you have the entire city (if you choose to) to run amok, complete with NPCs, traffic and police.

Even the single player is one of the best games I've played in a long time.
